Day 31 (10/13/20)

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Start: River Mile 516
Finish: River Mile 480
Day Total: 35 Miles
Segment Total: 761 Miles

We started today confident that with the wind at our backs, we wold be able to get some good miles in. For the most part. That was true. Due to the way the river bends, there were a couple sections were we had miles of really bad head wind. So, after 8 solid hours of paddling, we made it 35 miles.

For the most part, it was paddle, paddle, paddle. Some good current, but mostly not much of that.

The camp site tonight is on a 30 foot bluff, which is very pretty, The landing to get to it was steep, so unloading was not as straightforward as a simple beach landing would be. After 35 miles we were just happy to be out of our boats.

Dinner tonight, was sausage from Todd and Paula’s last night. It was just as tasty today too!

As I write, Jon is working his butt off doing his day job. Poor guy, the work just keeps on coming.

No quote for today other than, I’m so tired I’ll be asleep by 8:30!

Paddling Southewest was wide and fast

Jon stretches his legs

Barges were plentiful today
