Day 24 (10/6/20)

Back in the Saddle

Start: 630
Finish: 610
Day Total: 20 Miles
Segment Total: 631

Even though it was a cold 42 degrees when we got up this morning, we made it onto the river by 8:30 am. We need to get to the town of Cleveland MS to connected with an outfitter for a new spare paddle. While in town we will stay at at hotel, get cleaned up, do laundry and have a decent meal.

I felt really good today paddling. The funk I was in yesterday is gone and I’m ready to move forward one paddle stroke at the time!

The boat ramp was in pretty bad shape, but we were able to get our gear up and ready for the cab that made the hour drive from Cleveland to pick us up. Once in town, we got all our chores done and had a nice dinner at the Airport Grocery, a restaurant that is neither near an airport or a grocery.

We are spending a quite night getting caught up on writing and planning our next move. Big Hurricane moving into the area later this week and we are trying to game plan that.

Short and sweet tonight, more to come.
