Tennessee River Thru Paddle - Day 21 (5/1/21)

In the end, friends are what make the world go around
Start: River Mile: 264
Finish: River Mile: 247
Day Total: 18
Trip Total: 407

The major high light today was connecting with my great friend Shawn. He drove all the way from Austin, TX to be a part our our journey the next two days. I haven’t seen Shawn since he met Jon and I in Morgan City, LA last October at the end of our Mississippi River journey to the Gulf of Mexico. It’s so great to hang out and catch up. So much so that it is very late and I’m too tired to write much. So, here are a few photos for you all.

The wait at to Lock thru at Wilson Dam was 3-4 hours

Our portage partner, saved the day

Wilson Dam is the 2nd largest lock in the US

Trying to keep the Suns rays to a minimum

Jon and I are doing great. After a good nights sleep our goal is 20 more miles tomorrow. Shawn will pick us up and bring us back to the hotel. Then a good dinner and even better company and conversation!
