Super Bowl Sunday

When the regular season ended with the Packers beating the dirty, rotten Bears at their home stadium (the alien spaceship) and the Packers had clinched a play off spot as the NFC's number 6 seed I was happy about the way the team had ended the season. I was hopeful that they would play a good game against the Eagles that they wouldn't embarrass themselves, and maybe get lucky and come away with a win. They played a tough game and won it on a big interception to seal the win on the road in Philly. What an exciting game that was.

Going into the divisional game on the road against the Falcons in Atlanta. Having already lost this season to the team that had earned the NFC's number 1 seed, I was not confident going into the game but was hopeful that it would at least be a close game. We'll it wasn't a close game, but I didn't mind as the Packers lead by an arial show from Aaron Rodgers. A-Rod played an almost perfect game, his receivers where lights out and the Defense shut down Mattie Ice and his band of dirty birds.

Wow, the NFC Championship game for the second time in four years! On the road against our most bitter rivals the dirty rotten Bears from Chicago. Could there be a more storied rivalry? The Packer and the Bears HATE each other. The fans are raised from birth to despise the other. It was classic NFC north January football, cold, windy and snowing. The Packers got off to 2 great scoring drives then the Bears came roaring back. It was the defense led by second year lineman B.J. Raji and rookie corner Sam Shields. Our defense looks really strong going into the...Super Bowl!

The Super Bowl! I can't believe the Pack actually made it. For the fifth time in my lifetime. I'm so happy and proud of this team. They entered the season as one of the favorites to make the playoffs. Then right from the first week, the season ending injury's started. Over the rest of the season, guys kept going down and other's kept stepping up. the depth of this this team is a testament to GM Ted Thompson and his ability to build through the draft and via free agency. And Coach McCarthy has done a superb job is getting this team, what ever it looked like week to week, ready to play. 5 wins in elimination games to end the season where simply amazing. So, here we are in the Super Bowl agains a great Steelers team. If the Packers continue to play the way they've played, they will be Super Bowl champions. It's time to bring St. Vinces trophy back home to Titletown. Go Pack Go!
