Happy Easter to all! We had a wonderful time with family this Resurrection Sunday. Chris and I are still holding onto our traditions with the kids. We hid Easter baskets for each them to search for as well as an egg hunt. This year to upped the anty a bit putting dollar bills in 15 plastic eggs and hiding them throughout the house. Our original hope was to hind them outside, but with 7 inches of fresh snow on the ground, we had to go with plan B. The best part is the kid's didn't know there was folding money in the eggs. After Catie and found a few and shook them, she made the comment "Hey Dad, are ALL the eggs empty or just the ones I'm finding?" Well, open them up I said. Once she knew there were dollars in them, she kicked it into high gear to find more! It's funny how their perspective changes. Alex looking over the money from his eggs calculated how much gas he could buy with it. Nik saw it in terms of how much music he could buy off the iTunes store and Catie added it to the fund for her new cell phone.
Chris' God Son Noel came over around 10 to have breakfast with us. We then all headed out to Easter Service at, Westwood Community Church . Following the service we came home and I introduced Noel to Formula One, watching the Malaysian Grand Prix. Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen came home in first. Alex watch the race with us too, the first time we've had a chance to watch a race together in over a year.
We headed over to Uncle Doug's house for Easter dinner around 3:00 pm. Doug and Sue served their traditional Ham with home made Mac and Cheese. Doug had a great turnout with approx 20 people including Noel and Alex's girlfriend Claire. We had a really nice visit, catching up, watching college hoops and stuffing ourselves. It sure is great to be able to be with family on Easter, something we didn't get to do in California unless Mom and Dad came out to visit. Thank you Doug and Sue for opening your home to us. We had a great time and very much appreciate it.
